In 2022, the United States Food and Drug Administration estimated that 30 to 40% of American food
supplies were wasted daily, while 12 to 20 million people depended on soup kitchens for their
meals.
Our mission at Rubi is to bridge this gap by connecting businesses with excess food to soup
kitchens and food relief organizations, aiming to reduce food waste and end world hunger.
This project was created as a proof-of-concept within just two hours at the MontyHacks V
hackathon. It implements strong coding practices for a simple static HTML webpage with static
JavaScript components.
